Private sellerProduct description
This is an authentic Art Deco carafe produced by the renowned Hortensja Glassworks in Poland during the 1930s. The piece is a fine example of the period's aesthetic, defined by its elegant geometric silhouette and striking color contrast.
The carafe is crafted from two distinct types of glass. The main body features a delicate, transparent rose-tinted glass, which is elegantly contrasted by the solid black glass used for the footed base and the faceted stopper. This two-tone construction was a characteristic feature of Polish Art Deco glass design, showcasing a sophisticated approach to form and material. The design reflects the clean lines and stylized forms that dominated European decorative arts in the interwar period.
This piece presents in good condition, consistent with its age of nearly a century. It is complete with its original, matching black glass stopper, which fits securely in the neck. The glass retains its clarity and color, showing the authentic character acquired over its long history.
As a decorative object, this carafe would be a notable addition to a bar cart, sideboard, or display cabinet. Its refined presence complements Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, or classic interior styles, serving as both a functional decanter and a piece of design history.
