This is a vintage buffet cabinet/sideboard with a top section/china cabinet from the Art Deco or early mid-century period (likely 1930s to 1950s). The cabinet stands out due to a number of specific features:
- Streamline / Rounded corners: The characteristic rounded corners on the sides are typical of the Streamline Moderne design movement (a late form of Art Deco).
- Two-part design: The piece consists of a wide, deep lower sideboard with solid doors and, on top of that, a narrower top cabinet with glass sliding doors (display section) for displaying tableware or glasses.
- Color and hardware: The cabinet has a soft cream or ecru color and is fitted with authentic metal designer hardware (handles and keyholes).
Such cabinets were frequently used as dining room or kitchen cabinets at the time.
The cabinet is in good condition with light signs of wear on the lacquer finish. All moving parts work and the glass is in excellent condition.
