Product description
This is the Dagmar version of the Arnold Madsen clam chair, which is the now the license holder to produce the original clam chair. It is executed in fumed oak legs and in Skandilock Moonlight sheepskin.
The Arnold Madsen Clam Chair stands as a definitive masterpiece of mid-century Scandinavian design. Originally conceived in Denmark in 1944, this iconic armchair is celebrated for its distinctive biomorphic silhouette and exceptional comfort, making it a highly sought-after piece within the design canon.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the chair features a sculptural wooden frame that elegantly supports the sweeping curves of the seat and backrest. The exposed wooden armrests and tapered legs provide a striking visual contrast to the voluminous upholstery. This particular iteration is finished in a luxurious beige sheepskin, offering a deeply tactile and inviting surface. The underside bears the designer's mark, authenticating its Danish origins and historical lineage alongside traditional webbing construction.
The chair presents in perfect condition, exhibiting flawless structural integrity and pristine upholstery. The sheepskin remains exceptionally plush and uniform, while the wooden elements display a rich, even finish without notable wear. The authentic craftsmanship is evident throughout every joint and seam.
With its organic form and textural warmth, the Clam Chair serves as a profound focal point in any refined interior. It integrates seamlessly into Mid-Century Modern and contemporary living spaces, offering both sculptural beauty and unparalleled seating comfort.
