Product description
The Sirocco safari chair is an iconic design by Swedish designer Arno Norell from the 1960s. This particular example stands out due to the striking combination of a red lacquered wooden frame and a light canvas seat, giving the classic silhouette an unexpected and contemporary look.
The frame is crafted from turned wood finished in a deep red hue, constructed using the characteristic mortise and tenon joints typical of safari chairs. The seat and backrest are made of sturdy beige canvas, complemented by a matching quilted cushion for added comfort. The armrests consist of supple leather straps attached to the frame with brass-colored fittings.
The chair is in good vintage condition, with the materials having developed an authentic character. The canvas shows slight, natural discoloration consistent with age, while the red wooden frame has fully retained its structural integrity.
This Arno Norell Sirocco chair is a distinctive addition to an eclectic or modern interior. The contrasting colors make it a strong visual anchor point in a reading nook or as a characterful occasional chair in a living room.
