ProfessionalProduct description
Original Series 7 Chair, model 3107, designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. This example was produced in Denmark in 1967 and is marked underneath with the original Fritz Hansen / FH branding, “Made in Denmark” and the production year 1967. The chair comes from a household clearance in Berlin-Dahlem and was subsequently carefully refurbished. The moulded plywood shell is structurally in very good condition, with no swelling or delamination. Due to its age and decades of use, the chair does show various signs of wear, including scratches, small dents and marks along the backrest and the thin edges of the shell. As part of the refurbishment, the existing surface was fully sanded and then repainted in satin black, in keeping with the original character of the chair. The historical signs of use were deliberately not completely removed, so some scratches, small dents and surface irregularities remain visible beneath the new finish. The original chrome-plated tubular steel frame was also thoroughly cleaned, treated for light surface rust and refurbished. The chrome still shows a light age-related patina and minor signs of wear, entirely consistent with an original piece from 1967.
