Originally designed in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the Egg Chair exemplifies Jacobsen’s vision of creating intimate, sculptural seating within public spaces, combining striking form with ergonomic comfort. This 2019 production by Fritz Hansen faithfully follows the original design while incorporating modern materials and craftsmanship. The chair features a molded foam shell reinforced with fiberglass for lightweight durability, complemented by a satin-polished aluminum swivel base that ensures both functionality and elegance.
