Small Finnish collector's and wall plate by Arabia Finland from 1984. The motif “Rakovalkealla” – in German “Am Lagerfeuer” (At the Campfire) – bears the number 24 within a Lapland series based on paintings by the Finnish artist Andreas Alariesto.
The atmospheric winter scene shows a family in front of a traditional tent by a burning campfire. Several reindeer can also be seen in the snowy forest landscape. The muted blue, red, green, and cream tones give the depiction the characteristic narrative and naive expression of Alariesto's Lapland paintings.
On the back are the complete descriptions in Finnish, German, English, and Swedish, as well as the signature A. Alariesto, the motif number 24, the Arabia Finland brand, and the year 1984. An integrated opening allows for wall hanging.
Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks visible. Please note the photographs, which are part of the description.
