Unique piece testifying to a remarkable artisanal history with double temporality.
The solid bronze structure from the late 19th century
A superb, heavy, raw sand-cast art bronze on the reverse, bearing the circular hallmark of the original foundry, struck into the mass of Maison Gau Paris
The front face features extremely fine chiseling, with very deep acanthus leaf and volute motifs, typical of the house's savoir-faire during the Belle Époque.
Its historical workshop reconditioning 1920-1940
The Wall light still bears its original paper factory label on the back with the mention "for claims, recall ref 10_07_12"
It was during this period that the original sleeves were replaced by superb false candles made of waxed cardboard and the electrical system was modernized with insulated cables hidden in the hollow arms for safe use
