Product description
This is an original painting on canvas by Dutch artist Robèrt de Graaf, titled 'Antropocene'. The work is a characteristic example of his surrealist style, combining classical forms and natural elements in an intriguing way.
The painting is executed in oil paint on a stretched canvas. The palette is dominated by a soft blue background, with a deeper blue band at the bottom. The classical figure is depicted in naturalistic skin tones, while the iguana stands out with its vibrant, multicolored scales in red, orange, and green. This work reflects on the relationship between humans and nature in the current geological era.
The artist, Robèrt de Graaf, received an honorable mention for his work from the Circle Foundation for the Arts in October 2023, which underscores the artistic recognition of his oeuvre. The painting is in excellent condition and comes unframed, giving the new owner the freedom to present it to their own taste.
With its symbolic charge and refined technique, 'Antropocene' is a powerful statement piece. It fits perfectly into a modern or eclectic interior, where it can be displayed above a sideboard, in a hallway, or as a focal point in a living room.
