About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This antique zinc bullseye mirror embodies classic architectural elegance. Its distinctive oval shape and zinc frame, typical of Haussmannian dormer windows, make it a sought-after piece of character, prized for its historical authenticity.
The structure is made of solid zinc, framing a period mercury mirror. The metal displays a natural gray patina, a testament to its past exposure to the elements. The sculptural details, particularly the scrolls at the base, add a strong architectural dimension. The mercury mirror offers a deep and nuanced reflection, characteristic of antique manufacturing techniques.
The overall condition is good, reflecting the age and use of the piece. The zinc retains its original patina, and the mercury mirror shows the typical wear and tear of its era, adding to its authentic charm. The structure remains solid and ready for display.
This monumental mirror finds its ideal place in a classic or eclectic interior, adding a touch of French architectural history. It fits perfectly above a console or fireplace, creating a striking focal point in a living room or entryway.
