From our private collection and may change hands now. Completely original and working. A wonderful item for decoration or interior. For anyone who loves antique decoration and/or conversation pieces in your home or shop/showroom. Possibly even to be used as working for the enthusiast. This antique wool reel (also called wool winder) was used to wind the spun yarn or even rope. It is an ingenious system where the winding is via a gear mechanism and hammer. The little hammer/stick ensures that once the entire round is made the wool winder knows exactly how many meters of wool or even rope has been wound. The gear system still works perfectly, the little hammer needs to be checked but is still complete (minor damage to it which makes it slightly crooked). A unique piece of history in your home.
