This is a set of two antique serving dishes, manufactured by the English pottery Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. The dishes date from the late Victorian period, an era known for its detailed and decorative arts. The design is an example of the Aesthetic Movement, which drew inspiration from nature and Japanese art.The dishes are made of ceramic and decorated with a transfer print of a rural scene. The image shows geese by the water, surrounded by blossoming branches and reeds, executed in a palette of muted green, brown, and pink tones on a cream-colored background. The rim is finished with a refined geometric pattern in dark gray or black, offering an elegant contrast. The 'Rd 10107' mark on the back indicates a registered design from approximately 1884.The overall condition of the dishes is good, in line with their considerable age. The glaze has retained its luster, and the colors of the decoration are still bright. No major damage is visible, which testifies to careful use over the years.These serving dishes are not only functional for an elegantly set table but also serve as beautiful decorative objects.
