Product description
Buddha head crafted from bronze, with visible remnants of original fire gilding. The sculpture features a serene facial expression with elongated earlobes, tightly modeled spiral hair curls, and a high, flame-shaped ushnisha, consistent with the Thai Buddhist sculptural tradition of the Rattanakosin period. The surface displays a complex, naturally formed patina with brown, green, and darkly discolored zones. In sheltered edges and recessed areas, remnants of original fire gilding have been preserved, clearly situated beneath multiple layers of natural oxidation. No traces of modern lacquer, artificial patination, or later surface treatments have been observed. The object was traditionally cast using the lost-wax method. On the interior, there is original compacted clay or earth infill, with an irregular wall structure, mineral deposits, and oxidized zones. These characteristics confirm artisanal craftsmanship and prolonged natural aging. Modern additions such as resins, fillers, or mechanical elements are absent. The condition is stable and intact. Surface wear is consistent with age and historical use. No fractures, restorations, or later interventions are visible. Height: 44 cm. Based on the present fire gilding remnants, the natural patina, the traditional casting technique, and the original internal infill, this object is assessed as an authentic historical bronze sculpture from Southeast Asia.
