About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Antique Chinese solid pine wood table with a front drawer and robust structure, crafted around 1900 as a functional piece within traditional domestic interiors.
Tables of this kind were commonly used in both rural and urban Chinese households, serving as work surfaces or versatile side tables. Their design follows a simple and efficient construction logic, where each element has a clear structural role.
The piece features traditional joinery, with straight legs and stretchers providing stability. The integrated front drawer adds functionality without disrupting the clean proportions of the design.
The surface retains a deep, time-worn patina, with visible marks, irregularities and traces of use that enhance its authenticity. This aesthetic resonates with a rustic and wabi sabi sensibility, where imperfection becomes part of the beauty.
Today it works perfectly as a side table, occasional table or accent piece in contemporary interiors, bringing texture, history and material presence without overwhelming the space.
