Product description
Characterful old solid wood chest of drawers with four generous drawers and classic, handcrafted construction. The profiled top plate, the slightly recessed upper drawer front, and the simple plinth design give the piece its traditional character. The chest of drawers was repainted at a later date in dark red and off-white. This creates a striking contrast between the historical form and the individual, somewhat playful color scheme. The decorative metal fittings and keyhole escutcheons are particularly beautiful. The different, partly brass-colored and partly patinated handles show that individual fittings were probably replaced or supplemented over time. Another special feature are the drawers lined with colorful geometric paper, which create a surprising retro accent when opened. Condition: The furniture shows clear signs of age and use. There are paint chips, scratches, small cracks, and unevenness in various places. Especially on the top plate, the paint finish is worn in places, and the underlying wood is visible.
