We present this refined antique Italian side table dating back to the mid-19th century. It features the stylistic and construction characteristics typical of the Louis-Philippe period. Made of fine solid walnut and veneer, this was a side table typically used in antiques as a sewing table. The top lifts vertically thanks to metal hinges and is supported on the left side by a brass locking rod. A mirror is recessed into the inside of the flap. Opening the top reveals a divided interior space, with a large central tray for fabrics and small side compartments designed to hold spools, needles, cosmetics, or jewelry. Below, there is a drawer with internal dividers for additional storage of small items. The piece rests on four tall, slender, finely turned legs; a contoured and turned crosspiece ensures structural stability. Thanks to its compact size and refined lines, this antique side table fits perfectly into any setting. Although this table was originally intended to be used as a sewing table, today it can be used in a variety of ways: perfect for storing makeup or jewelry.
