About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This is an antique kneeler, also known as a prie-dieu chair, a piece of furniture with a rich devotional history. Its design is intended for individual prayer, with a characteristic silhouette that combines functionality and classic aesthetics.
The piece is made of solid walnut wood, which gives it solidity and a visible grain of great character. It has been re-upholstered with an intense red fabric that respects the original style, covering both the lower kneeling cushion and the upper armrest. Its dimensions are 96 cm high, 44 cm wide and 51 cm deep, with a seat height of 36 cm. The backrest features a classic design with vertical slats.
The kneeler is in excellent condition. The wooden structure is robust and stable, retaining the patina typical of its age. The upholstery has been professionally renewed, ensuring the piece is ready for use for many more years, with no signs of wear on the fabric.
Beyond its original function, this prie-dieu chair can serve as a unique decorative element in a bedroom, a hallway, or a reading nook. Its presence adds a touch of history and solemnity to classic, rustic, or eclectic style interiors.
