Product description
Antique side table in pine wood, from Central Europe. Originates from rural domestic furniture of the early 20th century, when this type of table served as a support in country bedrooms and kitchens. Pieces of this type were made simply and by hand, with a lower slatted shelf that allowed everyday objects to be kept in view. The top, with rounded corners, rests on four straight square-section legs joined by a lower shelf of vertical slats. The original white paint has worn naturally from continued use, leaving large areas of the pine wood exposed. In a contemporary bedroom or entryway, it works as a side table, bringing the genuine character of rural painted furniture.
