Product description
Antique ladder in pine wood, from Central Europe. It reflects rural joinery of the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, when repair was part of the craft.
Hand ladders of this size were used in orchards, stables and storerooms to reach the lofts.
The stiles, spliced at mid-height and reinforced with two riveted iron straps, carry rounded rungs fitted by hand.
The wood keeps a dark honey tone, softened by the touch of hands, and the iron shows a brown patina.
In a living room, a library or an entrance, it adds height and the silhouette of a working tool turned decorative piece.
