Antique kitchen island in pine wood, from Central Europe, in a rustic style. Originates from a European farmhouse of the early 20th century, built from solid unpainted pine to withstand daily use.
Tables of this size occupied the centre of the farmhouse kitchen, serving both as a work surface and a communal table for the household staff’s meals.
The long pine top rests on solid straight legs, reinforced by a slatted lower shelf that served to store baskets or kitchen containers.
The surface retains the natural colour of the pine, with cut marks and stains typical of a work top, and wear consistent with decades of domestic use.
In a kitchen open to the dining room, it works as a large central island or work table, bringing the genuine character of European farmhouse furniture.
