About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an antique secretary, crafted with a pine wood core and finished with a rich mahogany veneer. The furniture elegantly combines a practical workspace with a representative bookcase, characterized by a classic and imposing silhouette.
The construction demonstrates traditional craftsmanship, visible in details such as the dovetail joints in the drawers. The lower part contains a fold-down writing surface that provides access to various small drawers and compartments. The upper part is a display cabinet with two glass doors, ideal for displaying books or collectibles. The whole has a deep, warm brown color that emphasizes the character of the mahogany wood.
The overall condition of the cabinet is good, with an authentic patina that has developed over the years. The signs of wear are consistent with the age of the furniture and contribute to its unique, historical character. The brass fittings are original and complement the dark wood tone. A small door on the lower part has damage.
This secretary-bookcase is a stately piece of furniture that fits perfectly into a classic, eclectic, or rural interior. It can serve as a functional and stylish centerpiece in a living room, study, or library.
