Estimated value: €1,200 – €1,800 Origin: Nepal Period: 19th century Material: cast copper alloy Dimensions: H 19.5 × W 15 cm Weight: approximately 3 kg Antique Nepalese Ganesha, heavily and compactly cast in a copper alloy. Ganesha sits on a richly decorated throne and is depicted with four arms and traditional attributes. Clothing, jewelry, and plinth are elaborately engraved and show clear manual finishing. The alloy has a yellow-golden tone on the surface. Green-blue, white, and reddish-brown oxidation and corrosion products are visible in the open underside and protected cavities. Based on current macro and internal images, the material is therefore deliberately described as an old copper alloy, without more definitively classifying it as bronze or brass. A characterful Nepalese Ganesha sculpture with heavy traditional casting, natural signs of use, and clear age characteristics.
