How wonderful: a truly old home altar depicting the gods Shiva and Parvati together. This is a unique and rare ensemble that was once fully fire-gilded with 24-karat gold. In protected areas, that gold is still visible today, immediately highlighting the age and authenticity of this piece. The altar was made in Nepal and dates from the 18th century, a period when such home altars were still hand-cast for daily religious use.
