The tall, upright ornaments, hanging elements, and richly repoussé decoration are consistent with the striking metal tradition for which Miao ceremonial attire is renowned. Hand-worked Bronze The crown is entirely made of bronze, hand-formed and repoussé. The lower band features decorative relief panels, while the tall, rising elements and hanging pendants add movement and rhythm to the object. Irregularities in the metal and the manual finishing are visible in its construction. Patina and Age The surface displays an old dark brown to greenish patina, oxidation, and wear consistent with long-term use and age. The remaining hanging elements and bells enhance the ceremonial character of the headdress. Condition Antique traces of use, oxidation, wear, and minor deformations are present. The crown has retained its pronounced historical and ethnographic character.
