Product description
Antique medium-sized emerald-green ceramic vase (c. 1820). It is estimated to be about 200 years old , with an approximate date of manufacture of 1820. This antique ceramic vase is 28 cm tall and 27 cm in diameter. The ceramic body has been glazed, and the photos show the beautiful glazing effect that occurred during the firing process. It was recovered from Hunan Province in excellent condition. This antique Chinese vase is a unique piece of pottery, handcrafted using traditional methods in accordance with the standards of the time. It is worth noting that it is difficult today to find pieces of this age that are in such good condition. Age: 200 years Material: Ceramic Origin: China, Hunan – HISTORICAL NOTE – For many centuries, China has been a leader in the manufacture of vases and other ceramic items. Porcelain vases, in particular, became famous and were prized in European royal circles as a symbol of status and power. Ceramics as such are known worldwide, although the details of their production—and especially the distinction between different grades of ceramics—remain largely unknown to the general public. In general, two main groups can be distinguished: low-temperature ceramics and high-temperature ceramics. Porcelain is an example of high-temperature ceramics, which begin firing at 1,000 degrees. In contrast, ceramics composed primarily of clay are fired starting at 400 degrees and do not possess the hardness that porcelain can achieve. For this reason, low-temperature ceramics have been used primarily for decorative purposes. This decorative vase was crafted with the intention of bringing good fortune, happiness, and joy into your home. Our antique vases are one-of-a-kind pieces specially selected to complement timeless interiors and pair perfectly with any of our antique sideboards and cabinets.
