Product description
This antique Mechelen armchair is a striking example of classical woodcarving and traditional craftsmanship. The design is characterized by its richly decorated wooden structure, with the most eye-catching detail being the sculpted lion heads adorning the armrests. The chair is crafted from solid wood, presumably oak, and displays a deep, warm brown color that emphasizes the natural grain of the material. The seat is upholstered in a textile featuring a geometric pattern in brown and black, finished with decorative metal nails along the edge. The curved lines of the frame and the detailed floral motifs in the backrest bear witness to the artisanal techniques of the period in which this piece of furniture was made. The armchair is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The wood has developed an authentic patina that contributes to the historical character of the object. The upholstery is intact, and the construction remains sturdy and functional. This piece of furniture looks excellent in a classic or eclectic interior. It can serve as a characterful accent chair in a study, hallway, or living room, where it adds a touch of historical grandeur to the space.
