A rare wall mirror crafted from precious wood, adorned with linear and architectural marquetry, characteristic of late 19th-century pieces, at the crossroads of late Napoleon III influences and emerging modernism. The rigorously balanced composition combines: a framed mirror with slender proportions; an integrated case, elegantly concealed in the lower section; and a front panel featuring a delicately inscribed double monogram “M,” likely a private commission, lending the piece an intimate and almost narrative dimension. The quality of execution is evident in: the precision of the inlay; the subtle interplay of wood species; and the depth of the warm and authentic patina.
