About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This exceptional Italian typographic filing cabinet (cassettiera tipografica), dating from the 1950s, is a striking testament to mid-century industrial craftsmanship.
Originally used in a traditional printing workshop to store individual metal and wooden fonts, this piece features 18 specialized, shallow drawers that boast genuine historical character.
Condition
In authentic, well-used industrial condition. The drawer fronts were painted black many years ago, and the piece exhibits a wealth of wear and tear, including scuffs, natural distressing, and a heavily weathered patina that narrates its functional past. This pronounced character highlights its genuine workshop origins and adds to its rustic, tactile appeal.
