Product description
Antique Iranian Hand-knotted Bakhtiari Kilim/Kashan Palace carpet
Add a touch of elegance and warmth to your home with our Oriental Hand-knotted Bakhtiari Rug. This stunning rug, characterised by a rich, deep red colour, is not only an atmospheric decorative feature, but also a magnificent example of craftsmanship and quality.
This authentic hand-knotted carpet was made by the Bakhtiari nomadic tribe, originating from the Zagros Mountains in Central Iran.
Carpets of this size are known as Kelei or an extra-large one Kelim/Kashan size known as a palace carpet.
For a hand-knotted Bakhtiar carpet, this size is extremely rare and valuable. As these rugs are traditionally made by nomads or in small village workshops in the Zagros Mountains, a rug 4.5 metres wide requires an enormous, sturdy loom and often several weavers working simultaneously on the same rug for months or even years.
Features:
Hand-knotted: Each rug is hand-knotted with care and craftsmanship, giving it a unique look and character.
Material: Made from high-quality materials that guarantee both durability and comfort.
Colour: The deep red hue, complemented by subtle patterns, adds a warm and inviting atmosphere to any room.
Origin: Bakhtiari, Iran – a region renowned for its traditional carpets and craftsmanship.
Dimensions: 461 x 337 cm – ideal for larger rooms such as living rooms or dining rooms.
Why choose an Oriental hand-knotted carpet?
This rug is perfect for both traditional and modern interiors. Its handcrafted details and luxurious look make it an excellent addition to your living room, bedroom or study. What’s more, the rug is easy to look after and will retain its beauty for years to come.
