Wall storage unit dating from 1977, made in former Czechoslovakia by Dřevotex Žamberk, a manufacturer specialised in furniture from this period. Dřevotex Žamberk furniture from the 1970s is now referenced in the European vintage furniture market.
This piece perfectly illustrates the Mid-Century Czechoslovak aesthetic of the 1970s, with a particularly functional design and remarkable attention to the wood grain. Its upper façade with two doors conceals a generous storage space, while the open central section offers several levels for displaying objects, ceramics, or books. The lower part also encloses a generous storage area. The wooden structure and the veneer with very graphic grain add a lot of warmth to the whole. The understated handles, geometric lines, and integrated legs enhance its typically Czechoslovak character. The central part, a true display space, gives this unit great versatility. It can be used as a bookshelf, storage unit, china cabinet, living room furniture, or display piece. The entire piece is in perfect original condition with slight signs of use. I possess the complete series of this collection, allowing this unit to be presented not as an isolated piece, but as part of a complete furniture set. Original brochures included as a copy for sale.
