About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A beautiful, original, antique piece of *plateel* (Dutch art pottery) – a small jar or vase from the Ivora factory in Gouda, dating to circa 1920.
This piece features hand-painted, high-gloss *plateel* with a colorful floral/abstract design (shades of purple, pink, green, and orange set against a black background). It dates from the 1920s.
Manufacturer: Attributed to Plateelfabriek Ivora (Gouda).
Period: Circa 1920–1925 (early high-gloss line).
Markings: Features the original, impressed factory stamp "GOUDA" on the green-glazed base rim.
Note for collectors: For this specific, early high-gloss production line, Ivora did not include hand-painted model or pattern numbers on the base; the impressed stamp served as the official factory mark. This specific model and design are documented and have appeared at art auctions.
Brand/Origin: Ivora Gouda Holland (marked on the underside).
Height: Approx. 11 cm.
Condition: In lovely antique condition with vibrant colors. There is a very slight, minimal chip (approx. 1 mm) on the top rim—please see the detailed photograph. Otherwise, the piece is in excellent, intact condition with no cracks.
Will be packed with great care for safe shipping!
