Product description
This is an antique German apothecary mortar with pestle, dating from around 1800. The object is made of heavy cast bronze and bears witness to a rich history. The set embodies the craftsmanship and functionality of 19th-century pharmaceutical instruments.
The mortar has a classic shape with a flared rim and two small, robust handles on the side. The accompanying pestle is also solidly made and fits perfectly with the mortar. The origin of this piece is Germany, and the design is typical of the period, where durability and practical utility were paramount.
It was not polished. Dimensions approximately 11 x 10 cm.
The overall condition is consistent with its age of more than two centuries. Over the years, the metal has developed a deep and characteristic patina, which contributes to the authentic and historical appearance of the object. The set is complete and retains its original form.
As a Decorative Object, this antique mortar adds an element of historical depth to an interior. The piece fits well in a classic, rustic, or eclectic decor, for example on a bookshelf, in a display cabinet, or as a unique accent in the kitchen.
