Antique Faux Bamboo Sideboard with Marble Top and Mirror – French Elegance (c. 1910–1930)
This exceptional antique sideboard with a marble top and upright is a beautiful example of the beloved Faux Bamboo style, also known as faux bamboo. Around 1900, this decorative furniture style became enormously popular in Europe due to the exotic appearance of bamboo, which was rare on the European mainland at the time. The result is an elegant and atmospheric piece of furniture with a distinct Oriental character that fits perfectly within a classic, eclectic, or bohemian interior.
The antique sideboard offers practical storage space thanks to the shelves and two sliding drawers, making it not only decorative but also functional. The original marble top is in good condition and has only a small, expertly repaired corner. The accompanying upright is completely intact and is completed by a beveled mirror, set in a richly decorated Faux Bamboo frame. This mirror gives the furniture a luxurious and light appearance. Originally from France and dating from the period 1910–1930, this antique piece of furniture has been carefully cleaned, restored where necessary, and finished with a thin protective wax coating. As a result, the sideboard is ready for immediate use. This Faux Bamboo sideboard is not only a true eye-catcher in the living room or hallway, but can also serve perfectly as a stylish bathroom vanity, for example in combination with a concrete-look washbasin. A unique antique piece of furniture that will add character and elegance to your interior for many decades to come.
