About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a classic English Desk, crafted from burr walnut wood with a distinctive inlaid leather top. The design is typical of traditional English furniture making, where functionality and refined aesthetics come together.
The Desk is constructed as a 'pedestal desk', with a drawer unit on each side and a central drawer under the writing surface. The drawer fronts and the top are finished with richly figured burr walnut veneer. The work surface is inlaid with green leather, decorated with a gold-colored trim. The brass-colored drawer pulls in classic style complete the ensemble.
The overall condition is good and consistent with the age of the furniture. The wood and leather show an authentic patina that contributes to the character and historical appearance of the Desk. The construction is solid and all drawers are functional.
This Desk is a substantial and elegant addition to a study, library, or home office. It fits perfectly within a classic, eclectic, or rural interior and offers a spacious work and storage surface.
