Beautiful, flow blue antique pitcher/jug, by Doulton Burslem, circa 1890’s.
Piece has been designed between 1862 - 1902. It has a deep, cobalt, flow blue rose pattern/design on a white background, with gold gilt
with gold gilt decor on and below the rim, spout, handle and bottom (see photos.). There is an identifying mark/stamp on the base, with a coronet, which was added to the mark in 1886, to mark the appointment of Henry Doulton as "Potter to HRH The Prince of Wales." Under the mark, the word "ENGLAND", was added after 1891 (see photos.). The piece is in very good, original, and vintage condition, with very light marks, signs of age, and previous use commensurate with its age, as well as a patina of time on the overall body, lip, handle, inside, and base, which is expected for a piece of its age. No cracks or chips. It has only been gently cleaned with respect to its original patina of time.
