Antique Chinese red-lacquered bridal chest / wedding chest
Impressive old Chinese wooden chest, finished in reddish-brown lacquer and richly decorated with traditional Chinese floral motifs and depictions of precious objects. Equipped with fine, heavy-duty dark metal fittings, a characteristic round lock, and two metal carrying handles. The chest is in a beautifully weathered condition, featuring extensive craquelé, wear, and localized loss of the original paintwork. It is precisely these traces that give the object its authentic appearance and rich patina. A decorative and characterful Chinese antique object with a beautiful aged look.
