19th-century Chinese bronze tripod incense burner, crafted in an archaizing 'ding' form. The round bowl stands on three high legs with animal masks and has two upright handles. Around the body runs a wide band of polychrome cloisonné enamel with floral motifs, combined with dense geometric meander decoration in the bronze. The domed lid is also adorned with geometric decoration and is surmounted by a seated Buddhist lion, often referred to as a Foo Dog. A decorative and characteristic Qing object with clear age-related patina.
Condition
Good antique condition with natural signs of age and use, and local wear to the enamel. One side handle is slightly loose. The price has been adjusted accordingly. See photos for full condition.
