Antique carpenter’s bench in pine wood, from Central Europe. Originates from early 20th century trade equipment, built in solid pine to withstand the daily work of a manual craft. Benches of this type served as a work surface, incorporating an iron vise at one end of the top to hold pieces during handling. The thick top rests on four straight painted legs, with two front drawers fitted with leather pulls for storing small tools. The surface retains cut marks, stains, and losses of the original paint on the legs, the result of decades of continued use. In an industrial-style kitchen or space, it works as a central island or work table, bringing the authentic character of European trade furniture.
