Product description
A fantastic, authentic, antique bronze Buddha from Thailand, dating from the Rattanakosin period. It's a large specimen gilded with 24-carat gold leaf, circa the mid-19th century. This is the Dhyana Mudra Buddha, or meditating Buddha. This object comes from a private collection.
Dhyana Mudra is the meditation gesture. Both hands are folded in the lap, with the right hand on top, palms and soles of the feet facing upward. Buddha symbolizes the gesture of inner meditation and tranquility. A meditating Buddha represents increased awareness, where the entire material world around us becomes irrelevant. This showpiece will bring peace to your interior, a real eye-catcher in the right lighting.
