A beautiful, antique manual bottle corker (cork press) from around 1900. A fantastic piece of authentic tool, used at the time by winemakers or small-scale brewers to manually seal bottles with a cork.
This robust device works with an ingenious hinge and lever system. The cylinder and bottle clamp are entirely made of cast brass (yellow copper), the lever mechanism is made of iron, finished with the original red-lacquered wooden handle.
The mechanism still opens smoothly and the plunger moves well up and down. The object is in honest vintage condition with a beautiful, aged patina.
