About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an antique secretaire from the Biedermeier period, made of walnut wood. The piece of furniture is a classic example of the Biedermeier style, recognizable by the curved 'belly' of the drawers and the refined claw feet.
The secretaire is made of richly grained walnut wood and has a warm, dark brown color. Behind the slanted flap, which serves as a writing surface, there is an interior with various small drawers and storage compartments. The writing surface itself is inlaid with green leather. The three large drawers in the lower cabinet offer ample storage space and are fitted with elegant, decorated brass fittings.
The overall condition of the furniture is consistent with its age, with an authentic patina that enhances the character of the piece. The construction is solid, and all drawers and the flap function properly. The original finish and fittings appear to have been preserved.
This secretaire is a functional and at the same time very decorative piece of furniture. It fits perfectly into a classic, eclectic, or rural interior and can serve as an elegant desk in a living room, study, or hallway.
