This antique Beluch yastik rug is an authentic example of tribal textile design from the early twentieth century. Woven by nomadic artisans in the border regions of Persia and Afghanistan, this piece embodies the rich weaving traditions of the region with its distinctive geometric motifs and deep, earthy color palette. The rug is entirely hand-knotted from hand-spun wool, resulting in a durable and tactile texture. Measuring 141 centimeters in length and 84 centimeters in width, it is a classic yastik size, originally intended as a cushion cover or small utility rug. The design displays a complex interplay of stepped diamonds and stylized tribal elements, executed in natural dyes. Deep indigo and rich madder-red tones dominate the field, indicating traditional dyeing techniques highly valued by collectors. Considering its age of over a century, this textile is in good, authentic condition. Over the decades, the surface has developed a natural patina that enhances the depth of the natural dyes.
