Product description
Magnificent antique shell-shaped mirror with carved and gilded wooden frames, late 19th/early 20th century, in the Louis XV Baroque style. The inscription "guaranteed gilded with gold leaf" is present.
The richly carved wood features beautifully patinated gold leaf gilding. The decoration is abundant with scrolls, foliage, and acanthus leaves, characteristic of the Baroque style.
The back has been recently restored. Hanging hardware is included.
Ideal for adding charm to an interior, this mirror is a striking decorative piece that can structure a wall or enliven a space with its luminous presence.
It is in very good condition, with no missing pieces, and a light patina from use that lends an authentic character to the gold leaf gilding.
