Product description
Antique 18th century fireplace mantel with rare heraldry, namely a two-headed lion.
In the Renaissance architecture of the Low Countries, it was very common to execute fireplace mantels with richly sculpted heraldic elements. The two-headed lion with the shield served as the monumental support for the top (the mantel) of the fireplace.
The fireplace is made of terracotta and is glazed.
The total height, if all intermediate pieces are used, is 200 cm.
