Product description
Late 19th-early 20th-century wall-mounted wine aid, made of heavy cast iron and decorated with grapes and vines. This type was used in inns and wine cellars to prepare wine bottles before uncorking.
Important:
This is not a traditional corkscrew and no parts are missing. The object is complete and original.

This device was used to:
• support the bottle securely against the wall
• apply vertical pressure to reduce the tension on old natural corks
• make opening with a separate hand corkscrew easier and safer
The curved metal parts at the bottom are bottle supports, not clamps.
