About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an antique grand piano by the German manufacturer Gebrüder Knake of Münster. The instrument presents a striking silhouette, defined by its high-gloss black lacquer finish and ornate, hand-carved details.
Crafted in Germany, this piano features a robust wooden case supported by elaborately carved legs, reflecting a classical European design aesthetic. The interior reveals a gilded cast-iron frame, holding the steel strings and soundboard. An intricately pierced music stand adds a decorative focal point to the instrument. The piano is accompanied by a matching adjustable stool with a similarly carved wooden base and a round, upholstered seat.
The piano retains its original character and finish, showing a patina that speaks to its long history. It stands as a testament to the quality of early 20th-century German piano manufacturing. The accompanying stool is structurally sound and complements the piano's design.
As both a functional musical instrument and a significant decorative piece, this Gebrüder Knake grand piano would be a commanding centerpiece in a living room, study, or music room. Its historic and classical style allows it to integrate well with traditional, eclectic, or Parisian-style interiors.
