Product description
Bowl – Fritz Heckert (Jodhpur, c. 1905) For sale: a beautiful and 100% authentic piece of Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) glass art from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1905). This special glass bowl was manufactured by the renowned German glass producer Fritz Heckert (Petersdorf, Silesia) and belongs to the iconic and sought-after "Jodhpur" series. The design is strongly inspired by oriental and Islamic motifs. The glass is hand-decorated with refined polychrome transparent enamel (Transparentemail) and rich high-enamel gilding. The contours are applied in such a way that they mimic the appearance of traditional stained glass. On the bottom of the bowl are still the original/old collector's stickers confirming its origin (Bohemia / Fr. Heckert, ±1905). Condition of the object: The glasswork and the beautiful painting are in very nice, clear condition. As can be seen in the detail photo, the bowl has two clear damages (chips/breaks in the glass) on the rim, and there is slight, normal age-related wear to the gold on the inner rim. Due to these imperfections, the price has been adjusted accordingly, but it remains an amazing decorative masterpiece for lovers of antique design. • Designer/Maker: Fritz Heckert (Germany/Bohemia) • Period: Jugendstil / Art Nouveau (approx. 1900-1905) • Technique: Hand-blown glass, enamel painting and gilding • Style: Jodhpur series (oriental influences
