This antique vase from Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland is a striking example of the Dutch ceramic tradition. The design features a rich, symmetrical pattern characteristic of early twentieth-century decorative arts, in which floral and geometric motifs flow seamlessly into one another.
Crafted from ceramic, the vase is finished with a multicolored glaze in which deep blue, warm orange, and earthy green tones predominate. The underside is clearly marked with the well-known house emblem, the name 'Zuid-Holland', and the model number, confirming its authenticity and origin in Gouda. The classic baluster shape with a flared neck and a sturdy base gives the object a stately appearance.
The vase is in good condition befitting its age. Over the years, the glaze has developed an authentic craquelé, which contributes to the historical character of the piece.
This decorative object looks stunning in a classic or eclectic interior. It is a refined addition to a sideboard or mantelpiece, where it can be displayed both as a standalone work of art and in combination with other antique collectibles.
