This oval oven dish with lid is made of yellowish-brown earthenware. The dish has a decorative knob and handles in a contrasting reddish-brown color. Cracks are visible on the rim of the dish. Light signs of use.
This antique French terracotta casserole dish features its original domed lid and a beautiful warm honey-colored glaze with contrasting reddish-brown handles and lid knob. Its simple, timeless design makes it a wonderful addition to a rustic, country, or French interior.
Originally intended for stews and oven use, this traditional earthenware casserole now serves equally well as decorative kitchenware or a serving dish. The soft glaze, elegant proportions, and visible traces of age give the object much authentic character.
The casserole is in good antique condition with signs of use consistent with its many years of service. As seen in the photos, there are some hairline cracks around the rim. These do not detract from its decorative value and are reflected in the price.
