About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Decorative bowl with child figure and floral motifs. The bowl is made of ceramic with a dark, glossy glaze on the inside and a rougher, lighter finish on the outside. Slight signs of wear. The bowl stands on four small feet.
A rare antique French terracotta pâté mold in the shape of a swaddled baby. The inside features a beautifully detailed relief with a child's face and floral decoration, finished with a rich dark brown glaze. The outside is unglazed, revealing the warm natural terracotta and decades of authentic patina.
Originally used for preparing decorative pâtés, aspics, and festive dishes, this mold is now a highly decorative collector's item. Its unusual baby design makes it a striking addition to any collection of antique French kitchenware or culinary antiquities.
The mold is in good antique condition with normal signs of age and use. Small glaze losses are visible along parts of the rim, while the exterior shows expected firing marks, surface wear, and a beautiful aged patina. No visible cracks or repairs found.
